South Africas Minister of Agriculture Ms. Lydia Johnson, together with the South African Ambassador in Denmark and a delegation of female farmers has just visited the island. She had specifically asked to get the opportunity to experience and learn about Samsoe and its transition into renewable energy.
South Africa is hosting the COP17 to be held in November-December and the country wants to show the way forward. One of the ideas that were discussed during the visit was how the experiences from Samsoe could be used in the process of transforming the village of Kleinmond outside Cape Town into renewable energy.
The visit on the island was completed at Samsø Grønt, where Hans Joergen Bjur showed around among potatoes and advanced robots.
