Germany, Canada, USA, Korea, Russia, Sweden, Australia, Italy, Denmark and Finland all came together in an improbable gathering on Samsø.
Sixteen of students enrolled in the TV journalism program at the Danish school of media and journalism, came to produce stories about this renewable energy island.
We decided to challenge ourselves by being as carbon-neutral as possible. It was in itself an incredible opportunity to bike from shore to shore, in this not-so-flat countryside, and typically Danish versatile weather.
From electric cars to sustainable farming, from youngsters’ exile to citizens’ green participation, we discovered a lot of interesting topics in this tight-knitted and small community. Certainly, this little island encourages us to compare with our own countries’ situations; and shows the importance of local and communitarian efforts.
Our thanks to the Energy Academy for hosting us and letting us disturb – on many occasions – their daily work!
