Biogas on the island – part of a circular resource system
Such a plant could provide the new biogas ferry on the west route with fuel and will also provide an opportunity to develop the heavy ground transportation such as buses and trucks so they run on fossil free fuel. An important step on the way to becoming a fossil free island.
The project has good synergies with other Academy focus points, the biogas project Implement (more info below) might e.g. be included in the project. The project also has links to the mapping of sewage and water resources which is currently carried out on the northern part of the island in the Challenge Water Project. By coordinating these projects we hope to be able to create a circular system of waste resources, secondary water, food, energy and fuel.
