Pioneer Society research on the move!
Movemakers is an initiative encouraging practitioners in adult education to innovate education and learning environments for 21st century learners. Comprising members from Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands and Denmark, Movemakers is hosting a series of learning labs where professionals get the opportunity to visit unique learning environments and support each other on developing individual and collective projects. The second learning lab is took place in Denmark this week.
They particularly wanted to visit the Energy Academy to experience a learning environment that is grounded in local culture and to be inspired by the Samsø story. We were interested in having them test the models being developed as part of the Velux funding on their own real-life projects. To do this, we combined Malene Lundén taking a research focus on the group’s interaction with the models and Mary Alice Arthur using her hosting skills to create the container for focused intentional learning.
The result was a powerful experience for the participants and a real step forward for the projects they took into the experiment. We, in turn, will add this feedback to the fine-tuning of the models and add the experience of team-hosting to our repertoire.
